The 2015 Porsche Macan baby SUV has been unveiled at the LA Auto Show ahead of its arrival next year. The 2015 Macan is now Porsche’s fifth model line and will be offered as the Macan S and Macan Turbo here in the U.S., although the Macan Diesel is available in other markets.

The 2015 Macan borrows its platform from the Audi Q5, but is slightly smaller and looks closer to the Cayenne than the Q5. Under the hood the Macan S will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 with 340 horsepower, while the Macan Turbo gets a twin-turbo 3.6L V6 with 400 horsepower. Both engines are mated to a standard seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel-drive. The Macan S will sprint to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds or 4.4 seconds with the Sport Chrono package and a top speed of 164 mph. The Macan S is slightly slower at 5.2 seconds to reach 60 mph or 5.0 seconds with the Sport Chrono package and it has a top speed at 156 mph.

It’s also expected that the Macan will eventually be offered with a new four-cylinder, which will most likely give it the lowest price tag of any Porsche model. By being the most inexpensive Porsche, the Macan will also eventually be the most popular Porsche.
