2015 Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne GTS Unveiled

Porsche has unveiled the updated base 2015 Cayenne and Cayenne GTS models ahead of their debut this month at the LA Auto Show later this month.

Porsche has unveiled the updated base 2015 Cayenne and Cayenne GTS models ahead of their debut this month at the LA Auto Show later this month.

The 2015 Cayenne GTS is now powered by a 3.6L V6 bi-turbo engine that is both more fuel efficient and more powerful than the outgoing V8 naturally aspirated engine. The new 3.6L V6 engine generates 440 horsepower (20 more than before) and 443 lb-ft. of torque. The Cayenne GTS accelerates from 0-62 mph in 5.2 seconds, or just 5.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package. That’s 0.5 and 0.6 seconds respectively less than the previous model.

The Cayenne GTS also gets a 20-24 24 millimeters lower suspension, brakes from the Cayenne Turbo and 20-inch alloy wheels. The exterior of the Cayenne GTS also stands out with its large air intakes and the Sport Design package, including more contoured side sills and wheel arch extensions. Inside the Cayenne GTS gets GTS sports seats wrapped in leather/Alcantara upholstery with GTS lettering on the headrests.

The base Cayenne continues to be powered by a 300-hp 3.6-liter V6 Cayenne that is mated to a new eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission. It accelerates the Cayenne from 0-62 mph in 7.7 seconds – 7.6 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package.
