Although Mercedes-Benz has not officially revealed the 2014 S500 plug-in hybrid, the automaker has held a quiet event for its newest hybrid. Luckily Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog was at the event and has posted some photos from the event and early information.
According to the site, the S500 plug-in hybrid will be powered by a six-cylinder engine that is mated to an electric motor and a 8.7 kWh battery. The 333-hp six-cylinder sends its power to the rear wheels, while the electric motor powers the front, thereby giving the S500 plug-in hybrid all-wheel-drive. The 8.7 kWh battery packs enough power to give it a range of 18 miles in EV mode.

We’ll have all the info when it debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
