2014 Maserati Ghibli Officially Unveiled

Maserati is going to officially unveil its newest model, the 2014 Ghibli sedan in Shanghai later this month, but but the first photos and info has been released this morning.

Maserati is going to officially unveil its newest model, the 2014 Ghibli sedan in Shanghai later this month, but the first photos and info has been released this morning.

The Ghibli is smaller than the current Maserati Quattroporte, but borrows many styling cues from the larger sedan. The Ghibli rides on a shorter version of the Quattroporte’s platform and will be about five meters long. The Ghibli will be offered with two 3.0L V6 turbocharged engines with the most powerful version putting out around 404 horsepower. Maserati has also announced that for the first time ever it is going to put a diesel engine in one of its models. The Ghibli will be available with a 3.0L turbo-diesel. The 2014 Ghibli will arrive later this year, but stay tuned for all the official details later this month.

Maserati had this to say about the new Ghibli: “The Ghibli will have a sportier character compared to the larger Quattroporte. It is Maserati’s first saloon in this segment and reflects the company’s belief that a growing number of premium executive car buyers are looking to make an individual statement through a car that is distinctive, elegant and luxurious.”
