The 2014 Cherokee rides on the same Alfa Romeo platform as the Dodge Dart and will be offered in both front and all-wheel-drive versions. Buyers will be able to choose from a 184-hp 2.4L four-cylinder engine or a 271-hp 3.2L Pentastar V6. The 2014 Cherokee also gets a new nine-speed transmission and since it still is a Jeep, there will be three different all-wheel-drive systems offered. The most fuel-efficient version of the new Cherokee will also get up to 31 mpg on the highway.
The 2014 Cherokee will be offered in four versions: Cherokee Sport, Cherokee Latitude, Cherokee Limited and the Trail Rated Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Some cool features that the Cherokee will offer are a Sky Slider full-length open canvas roof, an available wireless charging pad to charge your accessories while on the go, the ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist System, adaptive cruise control, the Jeep Cargo Management System, forward collision warning and lane departure warning.
“The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee will be the benchmark for mid-size SUVs with a new level of on-road driving dynamics and fuel economy, while at the same time improving the 4×4 capability that customers expect from Jeep,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Jeep Cherokee boasts a new design, a nine-speed automatic transmission and two advanced engines, class-leading capability from three innovative 4×4 systems, more than 70 safety features, and a host of new technology features.”
