It’s being reported that the 2014 Ford Fusion is going to be offered with Ford’s new 1.5L three-cylinder engine. BlueOvalForums was able to get a quick look at the order guide for the 2014 Fusion, which shows that the new engine will be offered in the Fusion for the 2014 mode year, with late availability.
The 1.5L engine will be mated to a standard 6 speed Select Shift automatica transmission and also feature start/ stop technology, which should give the Fusion a highway MPG rating pretty close to 40 mpg. Ford will still offer the 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but it will only be available with a manual transmission. the 1.6L also loses the start/ stop technology.
Other options that will be available on the 2014 Fusion include: rear inflatable seat belts, a heated steering wheel and cooled seats on Titanium models.
