GM is hard at work on the next-generation 2014 Impala, which share its platform with the new 2013 Cadillac XTS.

The Impala will be offered in both front and all-wheel-drive configurations. The Impala will also be about the same size as the XTS. The latest spy photos reveal that the 2014 Impala will have a long nose with a front fascia that will be similar to the all-new Malibu.

The current generation Impala has been around since 1999, so the next Impala is definitely overdue. It will arrive in early 2013.

GM also recently announced that it will invest $68 million to to prepare the Oshawa Assembly Plant to build the next-generation Impala. In order to keep up with demand the Impala will be built at both the Oshawa Assembly Plant and the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant.
