BMW has unveiled the new 2014 BMW X5 M50d, which is powered by a turbocharged 3.0L diesel engine with 381 horsepower and 546 lb-ft. of torque.
The all-new 2014 BMW X5 is arriving in showrooms this fall and now BMW has unveiled a new diesel version, the BMW X5 M50d. The X5 M50d is powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder diesel with 381 hp and 546 lb-ft. of torque. The diesel unit’s power is transferred to the road by an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive.
The X5 M50d reaches o-62 mph in 5.3 seconds and fuel economy has improved by more than ten percent compared with the predecessor model. Average fuel consumption for the new BMW X5 M50d is 42.2 mpg in the EU test cycle.
The X5 M50d will go on sale by the end of the year in Europe, but no plans have been announced to bring it to the US.
