BMW has unveiled a new version of the popular BMW 3 Series, the 2014 3 Series Gran Turismo. The 3 Series Gran Turismo is the 3 Series version of the somewhat unloved 5 Series Gran Turismo. It features a hatchback design and is 7.9 inches longer than the 3 Series Sports wagon, offers a 4.3 inch longer wheelbase and stands 3.2 inches taller.
Thanks to the added height and increased dimensions, passengers sit 2.3 inches higher than the sedan and its luggage compartment is slightly bigger than the 3 Series wagon.
Under the hood buyers can choose the same engine lineup as the sedan. The 328i Gran Turismo is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower and 255 lb-ft. of torque. The 335i Gran Turismo is powered by a 3.0L turbocharged engine with 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft. of torque. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 328i and 335i Gran Turismo models will arrive this summer.
