It’s official. Land Rover has announced that the 2013 Range Rover is now available with a new 3.0L supercharged V6, which offers a new more efficient powertrain than the V8 options. “The all-new Range Rover has received a tremendous reception in the marketplace, and this exciting new V6 supercharged engine will broaden its appeal still further,” said John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director. “It combines the desirability of the world’s finest luxury SUV, with the enhanced sustainability offered by this advanced downsized petrol engine.”

The 3.0L supercharged V6 generates 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft. of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The V6 powered Range Rover will reach 0-62 mph in 7.1 seconds and is 15 percent more fuel efficient than the naturally-aspirated 5.0L V8.

“This new V6 draws upon the advanced technology of our V8 design to create a highly efficient, downsized power unit,” said Ron Lee, Director of Powertrain Engineering, Land Rover. “Supercharging has enabled us to deliver the effortless, refined performance which has become a distinguishing character of Range Rover engines.”
