Land Rover has given the small LR2 a facelift for 2013, which includes a new engine, styling updates and more content.
For starters the LR2 is now powered by the same 240 horsepower 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the Range Rover Evoque, which replaces the 3.2L six-cylinder. The new four-cylinder engine puts out 10 more horsepower and 16 lb-ft. than the six-cylinder. The four-cylinder is mated to a six-speed automatic and full-time four-wheel-drive.
Inside the 2013 LR2 gets standard leather seats, a panoramic sunroof and a new center console with a 7-inch color touch-screen. A new instrument cluster with a 5-inch screen displaying primary vehicle-related information, such as temperature and fuel levels, gear positions and Terrain Response mode, now sits between the dials.
On the outside the 2013 LR2 gets revised front and rear lamps with the latest Xenon and LED technology. The grille and fog lamp bezels now sport a bright finish and there are paint detailing changes to the front grille surround, insert bars and fender vent to harmonize the different elements.
The 2013 Land Rover LR2 starts at $37,250, while the LR2 HSE starts at $39,750 and the LR2 HSE LUX is priced at $42,350.
