For the 2013 model year, the Shelby GT500 is now powered by a 650-hp supercharged 5.8L V8 that is mated to an upgraded six-speed manual transmission. All that power gives the Shelby GT500 a top speed over 200 mph.
A optional Performance Package ($3,495) adds SVT-designed Bilstein electronic adjustable dampers that can be adjusted with the touch of a button on the dash. The optional Track Package adds an external engine oil cooler, rear differential cooler and transmission cooler for further durability.
If you want to a navigation system and HD radio, the Electronics Package will set you back another $2,340. In the end you can expect to pay over $60k if you select most of the options, but at least you’re getting a car that’s powered by the “most powerful production V8 engine in the world!”
