Ford sees the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid as one of the biggest competitors to the C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid. Ford claims that the C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid will have an electric-only range that is almost double of the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid.
The C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that puts out a total 188 horsepower. Ford also offers the hybrid version of the C-Max that doesn’t have a plug, the C-MAX hybrid, which starts at $25,995.
