Nissan has announced the pricing for the 2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback and although the sedan version is all-new, the hatchback keeps its same old clothes. Yup, the 2012 Versa Hatchback is still the first-generation model.

The 2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback is available in 1.8 S and 1.8 SL models, which are both powered by a 122-horsepower 1.8-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine. The Versa 1.8 S can be equipped with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic, while the 1.8 SL gets a standard CVT transmission. For 2012 the previous Premium Package content is now standard equipment on the SL model and there are four new packages for the S model: Convenience Package, 15-inch Aluminum-Alloy Wheel Package, Nissan Navigation Package and a “Special Edition” Package.

The Versa 1.8S Hatchback with the manual transmission starts at $14,380, while the addition of the 4-spped automatic raises the base price to $15,380. The top 1.8 SL Versa Hatchback starts at $18,390.

$19k for a last-generation Nissan Versa hatchback? At least the Versa sedan starts at $10,990.
