The 2012 Jeep Wrangler is set to get a much needed powertrain upgrade and it looks like Chrysler is also upgrading the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The 2012 Wrangler is getting a new 5-speed automatic and the Grand Cherokee is set to get a six-speed automatic for the 2012 model year. V6 Grand Cherokee models are also expected to get an electro-hydraulic power steering system that will be more efficient than the current system.
The exciting new addition to the Grand Cherokee lineup is the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is powered by a 465-hp 6.4L HEMI V8. Chrysler claims that the Grand Cherokee SRT8 will reach 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds and a that the SUV has a top speed of 155 mph.
