2012 Chevy Camaro to Get New LFX V6 With Around 330-HP

GM has some changes in store for the 2012 Camaro. Camaro5 is reporting that the 2012 Camaro is going to get a new 3.6L V6 that is being labeled as the “LFX.”

The 3.6L LFX engine is the same size as the current 3.6L V6, but in order to put out as much power as it can, it features Spark-Ignition Direct-Injection, Dual Overhead Cams, and Variable Valve Timing. The new engine, but it’s expected to put out around 325-330 horsepower.

Other changes to the 2012 Camaro:

* New Carbon Flash Metallic (aka Black Granite) color (2SS and 2LT only)
* 45th Anniversary Appearance Package (2SS and 2LT only)
* 3 sets of 20″ wheel designs (likely one for 45th anniversary package)
* Rear view camera (2SS, 1SS, 2Lt, and 1LT)
* Suspension system special ride and handling (FE4) (2SS coupe, 1SS coupe only)
* No mention of navigation system (yet?)

The 2012 Camaro colors will be:

* Carbon Flash
* Silver Ice
* Summit White
* Black
* Red Jewel
* Cyber Gray
* Victory Red
* Rally Yellow
* Inferno Orange
* Imperial Blue
