It seems like photos and info on upcoming models always leaks out, somehow. This time the first official photos of the 2012 BMW M5 have leaked onto the internet ahead of its official unveiling.
Thanks to the M5 Concept and the numerous spy photos of the M5 prototypes testing all over the world, these official photos do not contain anything surprising. The 2012 M5 looks basically the same as the lesser powered 5 Series, with the exception of the larger air intakes in the front fascia, 20-inch wheels and four tailpipes out back.
The previous M5 got its motivation from a V10 engine, but the newest model is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 with 552 horsepower and 501 lb-ft. of torque. Its expected to reach 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
Stay tuned for the official unveiling from BMW, soon.
