BMW has announced the pricing for the 2012 BMW ActiveHybrid 5, which starts at $61,845.
The 2012 BMW ActiveHybrid 5 is powered by BMW’s 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine, an electric drive system and an 8-speed automatic transmission for with a combined output of 335hp. It reaches 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds.
The ActiveHybrid 5 can operate in full-electric mode up to 37 mph and the lithium-ion battery has enough power to allow the hybrid to drive up to 2.5 miles on electricity alone. BMW has yet to release the official fuel economy stats.
The ActiveHybrid 5 will reach showrooms in late spring.
