Volkswagen officially took the wraps off the 2009 Passat CC at the Detroit Auto Show last month. Now according to CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Stefan Jacoby, the Passat CC is going to start below $27,000.
This is good news since it was originally rumored that the CC version of the Passat was going to be priced above the regular sedan at $35K. Obviously this is part of VW’s plans to increase its sales in the US.
When the Passat CC is released it will be powered by a 2.0L TSI engine that produces 197hp and a 3.6L V6 that produces 276hp. The 3.6L comes standard with 4MOTION all-wheel-drive.
