Volkswagen still remains uncertain about the fate of the new Scirocco in the U.S. First VW’s U.S. operations stated that they did not want the car to come here because it would compete with the GTI. Shortly after, VW reported that no decision had been made about the fate of the car. Now there are spy photos of the car testing in California, which adds even more mystery to the situation.
The front and rear of the car are heavily camouflaged, but it is easy to see that the production version will retain many of the styling cues from the IROC Concept that was revealed last fall (pictured above). For example the honeycomb grille is almost identical to the concept.
So the question still remains…Will this car actually make it to the U.S.?
In other news, VW has announced that the automaker is going to update their logo starting with the next generation Golf. The logo will remain in the same spot, but it will grow in size and protrude out a little further.
