Spy photographers have caught Ford’s new supermini testing. It adopts many of the same styling cues as the Mondeo and S-MAX. The car is going to feature a large grille, flared wheel arches and angular headlamps.
The next-generation Ford Fiesta is going to share the same platform as the new Mazda2. Both cars are built on Ford’s B2E platform and share similar suspension components. Although both models share similar DNA, engineers are working hard to differentiate the two models.
Five different engines will be offered. Three gas powered engines (1.3, 1.6, 1.8) and two diesel engines (1.4 and 1.6).
There will be three-door and five-door models in addition to a supermini-MPV that will be called the B-MAX.
It is rumored that the car will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month and that the new car will go on sale in the UK next year. The car is also expected to make it to the U.S. late next year. Let’s hope this version makes it to the U.S. and not the car that was spotted testing in the U.S. in the past few months.
