The all-new 2009 Acura TSX may have a weird grille, but at least the car will perform well in a crash. The IIHS has named the all-new TSX as a “Top Safety Pick” in its class.

In order to qualify for the “Top Safety Pick” Award a vehicle must receive the institutes highest rating (good) in front, rear and side crash tests and be equipped with electronic stability control. The new TSX improved over the previous generation that only received an “acceptable” rating in the side crash tests and a poor rating in the rear test.

The 2009 Acura TSX is in showrooms now and is powered by a 201 horsepower 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. Prices start at $28,960 and the top TSX goes for $32,060.
