Cadillac is reportedly considering offering more powertrains in the new Escalade beyond the current 6.2L V8. According to brand manager David Schiavone, Cadillac is currently mulling over a sportier Escalade Vsport model in addition to turbo-diesel V6 and twin-turbo V6 powered versions.

The 2015 Chevy Impala is getting standard start/stop technology on the base 2.5L Ecotec four-cylinder engine, which improves its city fuel economy by one mile per gallon. The four-cylinder, which accounts for up to 30 percent of Impala's sales is rated at 22 mpg city and 31 mpg on the highway.

Last year Chevy revealed its new High Country trim for the Silverado pickup, which was basically Chevy's answer to the Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. With 505 horsepower under the hood, Chevy's engineers had to give the 2014 Camaro Z/28 tires and brakes that can keep all that power under control. Following Ford's segment changing 2015 F-150, which features aluminum body panels, GM is now reportedly also working on an aluminum-bodied pickup that will be introduced around 2018. Chevy has announced the availability of new bi-fuel versions of the 2015 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD pickups. Currently CNG is priced at about 62 percent lower than gasoline, so it represents big savings. For example a work truck driven 26,000 miles a year can save more than $2,000 annually based on 75-percent CNG usage and comparable efficiency to gasoline.
