Next fall Cadillac is slated to release its new flagship, the 2016 CT6 and now it's been confirmed that the CT6 will be offered with a plug-in hybrid version. The plug-in CT6 will reportedly offer "industry-leading fuel economy upwards of 70 mpg equivalent," and the CT6 will also be lighter than the current CTS.

The plan for a three-row Cadillac crossover isn't new, but the latest report claims that plans for a Lambda-based Cadillac may be scrapped. The Lambda platform is used for GM's other crossovers, like the Chevy Traverse and Buick Enclave, but GM reportedly feels that it would be too hard to differentiate a Lambda-based Cadillac from the rest of the GM SUVs. Now Cadillac may have a new plan.
