Many people may forget that Acura sells a flagship sedan above the TLX, since last month Acura only sold 64 RLX sedans, which was down from 106 units sold in July 2016. Either way, Acura still wants to continue making the sedan and has now unveiled a refreshed 2018 Acura RLX, which incorporates the brand’s new face.

The 2018 RLX gets Acura’s new diamond pentagon grille, that’s already been bolted onto the TLX and MDX. It has a more sculpted hood and new wheel designs. The rear of the 2018 RLX gets new LED taillights, dual exhaust finishers and a gloss black rear diffuser.

“This redesign of the 2018 Acura RLX is transformational, creating road presence and styling that better reflect underlying performance capabilities of the vehicle,” said Jon Ikeda, Acura vice president & general manager.

Under the hood the RLX offers two options, the base 310-hp 3.5L V6 that’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission or a 377-hp hybrid powertrain that features three electric motors and all-wheel drive.

The 2018 Acura RLX gets three new exterior colors including Brilliant Red Metallic and Majestic Black Pearl. Inside, the 2018 Acura RLX receives upgraded materials and a completely redesigned seat featuring high-contrast piping and stitching, as well as a new Espresso interior option.

Standard features on the 2018 RLX Sport Hybrid include premium Krell Audio System, Surround View Camera, parking sensors, LED fog lights, remote engine start, ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats and steering wheel.

The 2018 Acura RLX will go on sale in November.
