Nissan has unveiled the updates to the 2014 Nissan 370Z NISMO, which goes on sale this summer. On the outside, new dark gray coloring is added to the front and rear fascias, lower side sills, side mirrors and NISMO rear spoiler, with each element featuring NISMO-style red pinstripe accents. It also gets an extended front nose design and a fully integrated chin spoiler. In addition, Solid Red replaces the previous Magma Red as one of four 370Z NISMO exterior color choices. Interior enhancements include the addition of a new steering wheel with Alcantara appointments and red accents, and a red NISMO tachometer.

The first official photo of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has leaked online, which gives us our first look at the new sedan. The 2014 S-Class is going to officially be unwrapped in a few weeks. The new S-Class will get a new sleeker exterior that features many of the same design cues as the much smaller CLA.
The all-new 2015 Hyundai Genesis is going to have its world debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January. Brandon Ramirez, a senior group manager of product planning at Hyundai recently confirmed the news to Edmunds.
Land Rover is celebrating its 65th birthday with a celebratory event at Packington Estate near its Solihull homeland and a special edition Defender - the LXV. The Defender LXV features 16-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels and comes in Santorini Black or Fuji White with a contrasting Corris Grey roof, grille and headlight surrounds and facia. The interior gets full leather seats with LXV embossed front headrests and unique orange contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel and center cubby compartment to complement the exterior LXV decals.
Lexus has announced the pricing for the all-new 2014 IS sedan, which arrives in showrooms this summer. The IS 250, with its 204-hp 2.5-liter V6 will start at $35,950 for RWD and $38,485 for AWD. The IS 350, which is powered by a 306 horsepower 3.5L V6 will start at $39,465 for RWD and $41,700 for AWD. The base price for the 2014 IS 350 is 2.1% lower than the model it replaces.
For those buyers that love the Mitsubishi Evolution, but can't quite afford its $34k price tag, but want more performance than the standard Lancer offers, Mitsubishi offers the Lancer Ralliart. The Lancer Ralliart is powered by a turbocharged 237 horsepower 2.0L four-cylinder engine, which is 54 horsepower less than the Evo, but a nice 89 horsepower more than is offered in the standard Lancer models. Think of the Lancer Ralliart as a direct competitor to the Subaru WRX. On paper the Lancer Ralliart packs more than enough power to satisfy enthusiasts and with its $28k starting price it's a bit more attainable than the Evolution, but is it worth it?
Toyota has unveiled the refreshed 2014 Toyota 4Runner, which gets a redesigned front fascia with a new front grille, and smoked headlamps. The SR5 and Trail grades feature a color-keyed grille insert and front bumper that is surrounded by fog lamps set in sharply cut inlays that extend from the headlamps down to the bumper. The Trail grade features new color-keyed bumpers and overfenders, and it continues to be distinguished by an aggressive hood scoop and silver painted front and rear bumper accents.
The sales numbers have been finalized for the first quarter of this year and with that it's now being reported that the Tesla Model S outsold the Chevy Volt in Q1 in North America. Tesla expects to report that it sold 4,750 Model S sedans in the US and Canada, which beats the 4,421 units of the Chevy Volt that were sold during the same period. The Tesla Model S also beat the Nissan Leaf, since Nissan only sold 3,695 units.
GM has released the pricing for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, which starts at $51,995 for the coupe and the Corvette Stingray convertible will start at $56,995. "The 2014 Corvette Stingray perfectly embodies Chevrolet's mission to deliver more than expected for our customers," said Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet marketing. "The Corvette Stingray delivers a combination of performance, design and technology that very few manufacturers can match, and none can even come close for $52,000."
Jaguar has premiered a new short film, called "Desire" that features the new F-Type at Sundance London, which was filmed in collaboration with with Ridley Scott Associates (RSA). The film stars British actor Damian Lewis, who was dressed for his role in Burberry Tailoring, as well as Spanish actor Jordi Mollà and American actress Shannyn Sossamon.
BMW and Solarwatt have announced a new partnership to provide home solar charging for BMW's upcoming i3 and i8 electric vehicles. The combined rooftop and carport photovoltaic solutions will offer BMW i3 and BMW i8 owners an attractively designed solar-based electric vehicle charging plus household microgeneration system using innovative glass-glass modules.
Audi is going to bring a new concept version of the Audi TT to this year's Wörthersee Tour 2013, which kicks off on May 8. The Audi TT ultra quattro concept is a new lighter version of the TT, which comes in at just under 2,500 pounds and is powered by a 310-hp 2.0L TFSI engine, which catapults the concept from 0-62 mph in 4.2 seconds.
The 2014 Chevy Spark EV now sits at the top of the retail electric vehicle segment with an EPA-estimated 119 MPGe rating. The Spark EV also has a combined driving range of 82 miles on a full charge. The 2014 Spark EV will also reach 0-60 mph in under eight seconds thanks to its electric motor that generates 130 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. of torque.
The first electric vehicle from the partnership between Volvo and Siemens, the C30 electric vehicle will arrive this summer in Europe. Beginning summer 2013, European leasing customers will drive and evaluate an upgraded demo fleet of 100 Volvo C30 fully electric cars. Volvo has also announced that the electrically-powered C30 will reach 0-43 mph in 5.9 seconds and can be full recharged in only 1.5 hours.
Toyota has unveiled the new ME.WE Concept, which is the result of a partnership between Toyota and Massaud. They have been working together since 2011 and Massaud has sought to create an "anti-crisis" car that addresses contemporary human, economic and environmental challenges, bringing his independent vision and experience from outside the motor industry.
VW has announced the introduction of the 2013 VW Passat Wolfsburg Edition, which will arrive in showrooms by late spring. The Passat Wolfsburg Edition slides in between the base S and the mid-level SE trims. The Passat Wolfsburg Edition adds new 16-inch alloy wheels, perforated V-Tex leatherette seating surfaces, a power driver's seat, heated front seats, satellite radio, and a Media Device-Interface (MDI) with an iPod cable.
It's being reported that Cadillac previewed the upcoming Cadillac ATS coupe and new Escalade SUV to dealers last week. Although the media has yet to see either model, we do have a few more details about what we can expect from the ATS coupe.
Nissan has announced the updates to the 2014 Nissan Versa, which still starts at $11,990 for the third year in a row. Enhancements for the 2014 Versa Sedan include the addition of standard 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, tri-cot headliner, 4.3-inch display audio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio for Versa Sedan SL models; standard 60/40-split fold-down rear seat and key fob trunk release for Versa Sedan SV models; and tachometer and low rolling resistance tires for Versa Sedan S models.
Volvo has no plans to compete with the flagship sedans from Mercedes-Benz and BMW according to a recent interview with Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson. Samuelsson told Automotive News China that a large flagship sedan doesn't fit into Volvo's "green image" and Volvo customers wouldn't even consider a model of that size.

This pilot program, which puts six Leaf taxis into service beginning this spring, will help Nissan, the city, the taxi industry and the public understand how zero emission vehicles can be integrated into future taxi fleets.

Smart has announced the production version of the ForJeremy that we saw last year in concept form at the LA Auto Show. Smart created the unique ForJeremy with fashion designer Jeremy Scott, which will be available as an extremely limited special edition licensed for road use. With its striking wings at the rear, the vehicle retains a central design element of the original show car.
Acura has unveiled the SUV-X Concept in Shanghai, which Acura says is a preview of a new small global concept vehicle that is developing primarily for the Chinese market. The SUV-X concept also marks the first time for Acura to introduce the world premiere of a concept model outside of North America.
Kia has announced the pricing for its new flagship sedan, the 2014 Kia Cadenza. The 2014 Cadenza will be offered in one trim level starting at $35,100 when it goes on sale later this month. "The all-new Cadenza is a world-class Kia for the emerging space between mainstream and luxury and will appeal to discerning shoppers in the market for an upscale sedan," said Tom Loveless, executive vice president of sales, KMA. "We're confident that Cadenza's sophisticated styling, luxuriously appointed cabin and long list of available technology will make it a strong contender in the marketplace."
It's been years since the Ford Escort was sold here in the US, but Ford has decided to revive the name for a new C-segment concept car in China. The new Ford Escort concept was just unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show and according to Ford, it's designed for "Chinese consumers seeking a fun driving experience and high level of technology, consumers who also value exceptional roominess, uncompromised functionality and sophisticated design."
Volkswagen is giving the world a glimpse into the future design direction of its SUVs with the new CrossBlue Coupe concept that is debut this week in Shanghai. The five-seater CrossBlue Coupe concept is the second CrossBlue concept, following the larger seven-seater concept that was unveiled earlier this year in Detroit.

Ford is celebrating the milestone of one million Mustangs being produced at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant since production moved there in 2004, which also happens to be 49 years to the day after the Mustang's 1964 debut in New York. Ford has built Mustangs near its home base in Dearborn, Mich. for 49 years. The car was built at Ford's famous Rouge factory, just a few minutes from company headquarters, for four decades before moving a few miles south to Flat Rock in 2004.
GM has announced that the 2014 Chevy Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel has been rated at 46 mpg on the highway, giving it the highest highway rating of any non-hybrid passenger car in the US. The Cruze Diesel is powered by a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine with 148 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque that accelerates the sedan from 0-60 mph in 8.6 seconds. It also has an overboost feature that increases the engine's torque to 280 lb-ft. for short bursts. The Cruze Diesel gets 4 mpg better on the highway than the gas-powered Cruze Eco.
Mercedes-Benz has dropped the first official details about the new Mercedes-Benz GLA compact SUV concept, which is going to debut this weekend at the Shanghai Motor Show. The GLA rides on the same platform as the A-Class and measures 172.5 inches long, 77.8 inches wide and 62.1 inches tall. The GLA concept is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with 208 horsepower that is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive.
BMW has released a new batch of photos of the new X4 concept, which previews the production version of the X4 that will arrive early next year. The X4 will be a smaller version of the BMW X6, just like how the Mercedes-Benz CLA is a smaller version of the CLS. BMW has yet to divulge all the information about the X4 concept, but its expected to borrow its powertrains from the X3.
Volvo has unveiled the first Polestar model to ever be put into production, the Volvo S60 Polestar. Sharing its DNA with the 508 horsepower Volvo S60 Polestar concept, the production version is powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder that generates 350 horsepower and is enough to get the sedan from 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Ford and General Motors have signed an agreement that will see both automakers jointly develop an all-new generation of advanced-technology nine- and 10-speed automatic transmissions for cars, crossovers, SUVs and trucks. The collaboration enables both automakers to design, develop, engineer, test, validate and deliver these new transmissions for their vehicles faster and at lower cost than if each company worked independently.
This summer the electric 2013 Fiat 500e will go on sale in California. Fiat has announced that buyers can purchase the 500e for $32,500, which drops as low as $20,500 after the available federal and tax credits, which is about $200 less than a comparably-equipped Fiat 500 Lounge. If you dont want to actually buy the 500e, Fiat is also offering a cheap $199 a month/ $999 due at signing 36 month lease.
The 2014 Audi R8 officially went on sale yesterday and starts at $114,900. The 2014 Audi R8 has received a few updates including an available new seven-speed S tronic transmission that improves the 0-60 mph time by 0.3 seconds on the R8 V10 Plus. New full-LED headlamp design continues to give the R8 an unmistakable presence while standing still and at speed on the road or the track.
Traditional steering wheel paddle shifters allow the driver to manually control a car's transmission, but in the 2014 Cadillac ELR, the paddle shifters will enable the driver to temporarily regenerate energy and store it as electricity in the battery pack for later use. Earlier this week there were reports that Ford is going to introduce a new 1.5L EcoBoost engine in the 2014 Fusion. It was reported that it would be a three-cylinder 1.5L engine, but instead it is actually a four-cylinder, since Ford has officially confirmed the new engine. The new 1.5L EcoBoost engine is now the fifth EcoBoost engine in Ford's lineup.

Ford has announced that the Ford Explorer is being produced from the ground up outside of the United States for the first time in the SUV's history. The first full-production Explorer has rolled off the assembly line at Ford Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in the Republic of Tatarstan for the Russian market. Previously, only knock-down versions of Explorer had been built anywhere outside of the United States, including Elabuga, since 2012. Knock-down production means partially assembled vehicles are imported from the home plant - in this case, Ford's Explorer plant in Chicago - along with the parts needed to complete them, and then fully assembled at the local facility.

MINI's current lineup consists of seven models that range from the Cooper Hardtop to the four-door Countryman and the two-seater MINI Roadster. Edmunds has learned that not every model in MINI's current lineup will be replaced when their current cycle is up. Jim McDowell, vice president of Mini USA, told Edmunds that MINI's two core models, the Cooper Hardtop and the Countryman account for 75 percent of the brand's sales, so they are safe, but other models may disappear in the next few years.

The next-generation Tesla Roadster is still a few years away, but Tesla boss George Blankenship has already provided some details about what we can expect. Blakenship told Autocar that he expects the next Tela Roadster to have over a 200 mile driving range since EV technology continues to evolve. The next Tesla Roadster will also reach 0-60 mph in under four seconds.

Detroit Electric, a company that you most likely haven't heard of has unveiled its new SP:01 electric sports car. Detroit Electric's roots go all the way back to began 1906 when it established itself as the market leader and most prolific manufacturer of electric cars. Detroit Electric went on to make some 13,000 vehicles by 1939 and holds the electric vehicle production world record for the twentieth century. Detroit Electric's SP:01 sports car will spearhead a diverse family of all-electric production cars, including two other high-performance models that are scheduled to enter production by end of 2014.
Chrysler has already announced the introduction of the diesel powered versions of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500, but it looks like the automaker wants to add another diesel powered model to its lineup. Chrysler president and CEO Saad Chehab recently told Ward's Auto that Chrysler is currently mulling the idea of adding a diesel powered 300 to its US lineup, but no decision has been made.
Acura has announced the pricing for the 2014 Acura RDX, which goes on sale today starting at $34,520. The Acura RDX was completely redesigned for the 2013 model year, so the 2014 RDX only gets a new Kona Coffee exterior paint color that replaces the previous Amber Brownstone.
For the 2014 model year, Porsche is introducing its first plug-in hybrid and two new extended wheelbase variants with the second generation of the Panamera. The new Panamera S E-Hybrid produces 416 total system horsepower and is joined by Panamera 4S Executive and Panamera Turbo Executive models in the revised Panamera lineup. S models are now powered by an entirely new 3.0-liter V6 engine with twin turbochargers.
Volkswagen has updated the small Polo with more standard equipment and the introduction of the Polo R-Line Style. The Polo BlueMotion and the Polo Match now come with rear parking sensors, cruise control and an alarm, and the Match has been renamed the Polo Match Edition, to indicate its enhanced specification. Together, the additional equipment has a value of £510, but the price for these models is increased by just £135 starting at £11,910 for the 1.2-liter 60 PS three-door.
Maserati has just confirmed plans to unveil a new model at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show. Maserati has released this teaser of the new model, but its name and what kind of model it is hasn't been confirmed. Although it's pretty easy to tell that its a new sedan and since it's been confirmed for a while that Maserati is working on a new smaller sedan, dubbed the Ghibli, we expect to finally see the Ghibli later this month in China.
Photos of the revised 2014 Porsche Panamera have leaked online ahead of Porche's official release. The updates to the 2014 Panamera are pretty small with the exterior updates only being new headlights and a front bumper out front and the rear getting new LED taillights, a new bumper and a slightly revised tailgate. Inside the changes are probably even smaller.
The all-new 2014 Toyota Corolla is expected to go on sale before the end of the year, but we won't have to wait that long for Toyota to officially unveil the next Corolla.
