In the past Japanese automakers had to downplay the actual horsepower ratings of their vehicles due to certain laws in Japan. This meant that many of Japan's high-performance vehicles all had around 274-276 horsepower, even though they were obviously capable of much more. Well Audi seems to be doing the same thing with the upcoming RS6.
Next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Honda is going to unveil the Accord Tourer Concept that hints at the replacement for the UK Honda Accord (pictured above). The UK Honda Accord is essentially the same sedan that we have in the US, which is rebadged as the Acura TSX (the US-spec Accord is not the same).
The all-new 2009 Audi A4 is set for an unveiling at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show, but thanks to AutoWeek.nl we have our first look at an official photo of the new car. Carscoop has posted two separate videos of the recently unveiled 2008 Honda Accord Coupe and Sedan. Click through to see both videos and the photos of one of the most anticipated new 2008 models.
Acura has had a hard time trying to win customers from Lexus and BMW due to the fact that the Acura lineup lacks a V8 or a rear-wheel-drive platform. Acura's SH-AWD system has helped on the RL sedan, but the fact that it still lacks a V8 engine has turned off potential customers. It is being rumored that Honda is indeed working on a V8 for its flagship models and now according to Honda the automaker has set its sights higher than BMW or Lexus.
The next-generation Chevrolet Malibu is very important to GM. The automaker has already announced that when the all-new sedan hits showrooms, Chevy dealers will have Accords and Camrys on hand to show consumers how it compares (or is better). GM is also planning a $100 million campaign to help launch the new sedan.
It seems like there are new spy photos every week of the new 2008 Honda Accord. So much so that when the photos are officially released, it is going to be old news. Well following the photos of the coupe earlier this week, we now have the best photos of the interior to date. Thanks to The Mags Report.

Although Ferrari has denied that the automaker is working on a new entry-level Dino model, spy photographers have caught photos of what looks like a test mule for the car. Although the car is wearing 599 bodywork, it is obvious that there is something different about the car. According to Brenda Priddy the main sign was that the engine did not have the same engine sound as the other Ferraris. Basically the smaller Ferrari lacked the same rasp of the current Ferraris.
Spy photographers have caught Ford's new supermini testing. It adopts many of the same styling cues as the Mondeo and S-MAX. The car is going to feature a large grille, flared wheel arches and angular headlamps.
Brenda Priddy & Co. have taken some new shots of the upcoming Lamda-based Chevy CUV. GM currently has three CUVs based on this platform, the GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave and Saturn Outlook. It is up in the air if Chevrolet is going to stick with the Traverse name when the CUV debuts in 2009.
Audi has announced that the automaker and Apple have been working closely to make sure that the new iPhone works in most Audi vehicles. Any Audi model with the Bluetooth option will allow the usage of the iPhone. This means that users will be able to make and receive hands-free phone calls, assign specific names to numbers and access call lists.
Chevrolet has unveiled the newly restyled Aveo 5-door for the European market, the successor to the Kalos. The sedan version already received a restyle for the 2007 model year, although for some reason Chevy did not update the 5-door. Well now the automaker has updated it and all I can say is....what's up with that wannabe Audi grille?
The Mazda5 has been on the market for three years, so it is time for a refresh. Spy photographers have caught some photos of a 2008 prototype with a slightly revised front end and new rims.
We've seen so many spy photos of the new 2009 Jaguar XF testing all over the world. Brenda Priddy even auctioned off a piece of the tape that was used to camouflage one of the prototypes. Now we have our first look at the car almost completely uncovered.
We've seen many spy photos of the upcoming Dodge Challenger muscle car. Most of those photos were from guys with handy camera phones that didn't show that much detail. There new photos from the show more details of the car that others have missed.

Last month the IRS announced that the hydrogen-powered Honda FCX fuel cell vehicle was eligible for the Qualified Fuel Cell Motor Vehicle Credit program. The credit is part of the federal Energy Policy Act of 2005, which seeks to promote affordable, dependable and environmentally-sound production and distribution of energy for America's future.
Honda has been making headlines lately due to its upcoming diesel engines that will first be offered in the all-new Accord (US). Acura on the other hand has remained quiet. Currently Acura does not have a hybrid or a diesel in its lineup to attract the "green" shoppers and to remain competitive with its competitors.

Last month it was the number 4 best selling vehicle in the U.S. Better than the Honda Accord and Honda Civic. This fall Toyota is going to take the wraps off the all new version.
Honda has just announced that the Mugen version of the Honda Civic Si will be sold on our shores this fall. Although the car has a modified body, suspension and new wheels the car has been criticized for not having any real performance gains over the regular Civic Si. Well if you live in Japan you can actually buy a more powerful Civic from your local Honda dealer.
It has already been reported that the sales of GM's new GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado pickups are not selling as well as the automaker had hoped. Recently GM also announced that production of their full-size pickups is going to be scaled back due to slow sales. Toyota's full-size Tundra is also new this year and has had some issues as well, which are mainly due to engine quality issues and crash test results. Well now it looks like Toyota's once ignored full-size pickup is the fourth best-selling full-size half-ton pickup in the US, narrowly squeezing out the GMC Sierra.
Last month will go down in the record books as the first month that Detroit's Big 3 (Ford, GM and Chrysler) sold less vehicles than their foreign competitors. Sales from Ford, GM and Chrysler only made up 48.1 percent of all vehicles sales in the U.S. last month, while foreign competitors made up 51.9 percent.
