It is being reported that Land Rover is working on a new version of the Freelander/LR2 SUV. The new version will seat 7 passengers and will be sold alongside the 5 passenger version within 18 months. The new version is being designed to keep up with increasing competition in Europe where multi-seat SUVs and wagons are on the rise.

Infiniti has announced the pricing for the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe that will be in showrooms on August 21st.

Many of us may remember the original AE86 Toyota that was a RWD Corolla coupe in the 1980's. Best Car Plus magazine has revealed that Toyota is working on a new AE86 type car that will be in showrooms by the winter of 2008.

Last month will go down in the record books as the first month that Detroit's Big 3 (Ford, GM and Chrysler) sold less vehicles than their foreign competitors. Sales from Ford, GM and Chrysler only made up 48.1 percent of all vehicles sales in the U.S. last month, while foreign competitors made up 51.9 percent.

VW has plans to debut eight new models at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September one of which will be a new rear-engined car for developing markets like the original VW Bug.

Toyota has released a high-performance version of its Blade hatchback in Japan today. The car is powered by the same 3.5L V6 that is in the Lexus IS350 and other Toyota models. It features 276hp and 253 lb-ft. of torque.

It has already been reported that the sales of GM's new GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado pickups are not selling as well as the automaker had hoped. Recently GM also announced that production of their full-size pickups is going to be scaled back due to slow sales. Toyota's full-size Tundra is also new this year and has had some issues as well, which are mainly due to engine quality issues and crash test results. Well now it looks like Toyota's once ignored full-size pickup is the fourth best-selling full-size half-ton pickup in the US, narrowly squeezing out the GMC Sierra.

Although the days are numbered for the Saab 9-7x, Saab and GM still decided to release a high-performance version of the SUV. Saab is going to introduce a new performance Aero version f the 9-7x that will have a 6.0L V8 that puts out 390hp and 395 lb-ft. of torque.

Although the car has a modified body, suspension and new wheels the car has been criticized for not having any real performance gains over the regular Civic Si. Audi's newest coupe has yet to be released in the US and some other markets in the world, but that isn't stopping Audi from expanding the model range with two new six-cylinder engines. The new engines will start at the lower end of the model range with a 2.7L TDI (diesel) and a 3.2L FSI engine.

VW has officially announced today that the automaker is going to end its current Bluetec relationship with Mercedes. Instead of badging their vehicles with the Bluetec labels, Volkswagen is going to return to the familiar TDI badging that the automaker has used in the past.

The current Toyota Corolla has been on the market since 2002, which makes it one of the oldest vehicles in its class. Although the current Corolla is old, it is still selling well. According to AutoTelegraaff Audi is going to release the Q7 V12 TDI in the second half of 2008. The V12 version of the Q7 packs 500 horsepower and propels the large SUV from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds.

For the 2008 model year Audi has updated many components of its flagship sedan, although you probably won't notice most of them. First the A8 is going to be offered with the 2.8L FSI six-cylinder engine (Europe) that will put out 210 hp and achieve 28mpg.

Porsche has announced the pricing for the new 2008 Limited Edition Boxster and Boxster S. The Limited Edition Porsche Boxster starts at $49,900 (Reg: $45,800) and the Boxster S starts at $59,900 (reg: $55,700). Porsche is only going to produce 500 of the orange Boxsters.

Audi has announced that the automaker and Apple have been working closely to make sure that the new iPhone works in most Audi vehicles. Any Audi model with the Bluetooth option will allow the usage of the iPhone. Spy photographers have caught Ford's new supermini testing. It adopts many of the same styling cues as the Mondeo and S-MAX. The car is going to feature a large grille, flared wheel arches and angular headlamps.

Although Ferrari has denied that the automaker is working on a new entry-level Dino model, spy photographers have caught photos of what looks like a test mule for the car. Although the car is wearing 599 bodywork, it is obvious that there is something different about the car. According to Brenda Priddy the main sign was that the engine did not have the same engine sound as the other Ferraris. Basically the smaller Ferrari lacked the same rasp of the current Ferraris.

The famous time machine car from the three "Back to the Future" movies is going to be produced again after a 25 year hiatus. The DeLorean company was re-established in 1995 and has been refurbishing the cars since then. Next year up to two DeLoreans will be produced per month in Humble, Texas.
