VW has announced that the Passat CC will be available as a five passenger model in Europe. Since it launched the Passat CC, known as just the VW CC in the US has strictly been a four-seater. A new three place, rear bench is now optional. VW hasn’t announced if the CC will get this option in the US.
The new rear bench fulfils all necessary safety aspects with its third head restraint and three-point seat belt at the centre position,” Volkswagen said in a statement. “In addition, the folding backrest is asymmetrically split, so that even larger objects can be transported effortlessly. The 3-seat rear bench system is available as an option for 100 euros.”
