The 2019 VW Arteon was scheduled to arrive in the US bin the third quarter of this year, but now Volkswagen has delayed its arrival until early 2019.

According to VW, the Arteon’s delay “is because of delays in the certification process caused by a backlog in meeting [new] WLTP worldwide emissions testing.” The Arteon has been on sale in Germany since 2017, but the successor to the CC now won’t arrive for at least a few more months in the US.

The 2019 VW Arteon is based on VW’s MQB platform and it is five inches longer than the CC. The Arteon will only be offered with one engine, a 268-hp turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. 4Motion all-wheel drive is available.
