Volkswagen continues to expand its electric ID. lineup and now it’s unveiled a preview of a new EV that will join the lineup in 2025. The ID. Life concept is a preview of a new small EV that will be introduced in 2025. It’s smaller than the ID. 3 that we don’t get here in the US.

“The ID. Life is our vision of next-generation fully electric urban mobility. The concept car provides a preview of an ID. model in the small car segment that we will be launching in 2025, priced at around 20,000 euros. This means we are making electric mobility accessible to even more people”, says Ralf Brandstätter, CEO of the Volkswagen brand.

The ID. Life could serve as the replacement for the Polo, since it’s about the same size. It’s powered by a single 231 horsepower electric motor that drives the front wheels and a 57 kWh battery pack that gives it up to 249 miles of range on the European WLTP cycle.

It has some cool design details like the plastic roof that can be removed to give you an open-top experience and the use of recycled plastic bottles, wood chips, rice husks and natural rubber throughout the vehicle is a nod to sustainability. The configurable interior can be transformed into a bedroom or living room, since the seats can be turned into a bed. You can also watch a full screen movie when the concept is parked.

The minimalistic interior gets a hexagonal-shaped steering wheel with a digital display and the concept uses cameras instead of side or interior mirrors.

VW has not announced if the production version of the ID. Life concept will be sold in the US.
