Volkswagen has announced the pricing for the restyled 2020 Passat, which starts at $23,915, including the destination fees. With a starting price under $24k, the updated Passat starts over $2k below the 2019 model.

The revamped 2020 Passat is still based on the same platform as the 2019 model, but it gets several updates on the outside and inside to make it more appealing. The front fascia has been updated with a new grille and headlights, which gives the 2020 Passat a bolder look. At the rear there are new LED taillights and more prominent Passat badging that runs the width of the trunklid. The exterior updates are topped off with new 17-, 18- and 19-inch wheels.

Under the hood the 2020 Passat only offers one engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 174 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the 2020 Passat gets a new dash design, upgraded technology, new colors and higher quality materials. The seats can be wrapped in V-Tex leatherette, Nappa leather or cloth seat with four color options. The 2020 Passat will be offered in four trim levels: S, SE, R-Line and SEL.
