Volkswagen has released the pricing details for the 2019 VW Jetta GLI, which starts at $25,995.
The 2019 VW Jetta GLI is the sportiest Jetta yet thanks to a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The engine is shared with the Golf GTI and has 18 more horsepower and 41 lb-ft. more torque than the previous Jetta GLI’s engine.
The Jetta GLI can be equipped with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It’s rated at 25/32 mpg regardless of which transmission you choose.
Other upgrades include, a sport suspension, front brakes from the Golf GTI and Golf R, and a torque-sensing limited-slip differential. The Jetta GLI also stands out thanks to its more aggressive front and rear fascias, rear spoiler and dual exhaust.
The 2019 VW Jetta GLI will be offered in three trim levels: S, 35th Anniversary Edition, and Autobahn. The most expensive Jetta GLI is the Autobahn with the dual-clutch automatic that starts at $29,995.
