With Dieselgate almost behind it, Volkswagen is getting ready to move forward with its new range of green vehicles. Diesels are out at VW, so it’s getting ready to release a whole new range of electric vehicles and two of them will be built in the U.S.

Autocar is reporting that Volkswagen will build the production versions of the I.D. Crozz and I.D. Buzz electric vehicles in the United States, which means they will likely be produced at VW’s plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

“For strong product momentum, they need to be produced in the USA,” VW’s North America boss Hinrich Woebcken told Autocar. “It’s not possible to come into a high-volume scenario with imported cars. We want to localize electric mobility in the US.”

VW will not only just produce the new electric cars in the United States, but they will also be “Americanized.” The production version of the I.D. Crozz concept is expected to arrive in 2020 and the Microbus inspired I.D. Buzz concept will go into production by 2022.
