Volkswagen says that the T-Roc’s exterior will feature a “surprising progressive design.” The T-Roc will be based on VW’s MQB platform with a range of turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines. There’s even a chance that a high-performance R version could be added with turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with around 300 horsepower. At the other end of the spectrum, the T-Roc is also expected to get a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

Inside the T-Roc will feature a digital instrument cluster.

The 2018 T-Roc will have its public debut next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with production kicking off around the same time. The T-Roc will not arrive in the United States until about a year from now.
