The all-new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will be arriving this fall and the biggest change will be the deletion of the body-on-frame platform that true SUV loyalists crave. In its place, the 2013 Pathfinder is switching back to a unibody platform that has allowed Nissan to make the new Pathfinder 500 pounds lighter and 25 percent more fuel efficient.
Many Pathfinder fans may be worried that the switch to a unibody platform means that the new Pathfinder will not be as capable once the pavement ends, but Nissan is out to prove them wrong. Nissan has released a promo video that shows Pathfinder prototypes hitting snow covered trails to show that the next Pathfinder is just as capable as the current model.
Nissan gave us a preview of the 2013 Pathfinder with the Pathfinder concept in Detroit last month. We will see the final production version in New York in April.
