We’re big fans of the Toyota GR Supra, but there’s one thing we wish it had – a manual transmission. Here in the U.S. both of the Supra’s available engines are mated to an automatic transmission. Now for the good news, a new report claims that a manual is coming.

The Drive is reporting that a manual Supra is coming, thanks to a source inside Toyota’s dealer network who “confirmed” that a manual Supra is coming. It will also reportedly debut this year.

If the report is accurate, it’s expected that the 2023 Supra will get the manual option and it will reportedly be offered with either the four- or six-cylinder engine. Earlier reports hinted that the manual would only be offered with the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder, but now it looks like it will be offered with the six-cylinder as well.

We’re also waiting to hear new about a high-performance GRMN version of the Supra. It’s rumored that the GRMN Supra could get the S58 engine from the BMW M3.
