Toyota isn’t ready to officially unveil the new Supra, but it will provide a preview of it at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Toyota has announced that it will reveal a new concept in Geneva, which “signals Toyota’s commitment to bring back to the market its most iconic sports car.”
We don’t know if the concept will continue to use the FT-1 name, which originally previewed the new Supra back in 2014. Even though Toyota has been pretty quiet about the final details, we do know that the new Supra will share its parts with the next-generation BMW Z4. The latest report claims that at least one version of the Supra will be powered by a BMW sourced 3.0L V6 with around 335 horsepower.
At the other end of the spectrum, the Supra will be also be available with a 195-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or a 248-hp version of the same four-cylinder. It’s expected that in the US the base Supra will get the 248 horsepower engine.
We’ll hopefully get more details when the concept debuts on March 6.
