Toyota has unveiled the FT-AC (Future Toyota Adventure Concept) at the LA Auto Show. While this latest SUV concept looks ready for an adventure, it’s also likely a preview of the next-generation Toyota RAV4.

Compared to the RAV4 the Toyota FT-AC concept looks more aggressive with its pronounced, wide, black, front grille, 20-inch wheels and safari-style cargo roof rack system.

“FT-AC is perfect for those outdoor enthusiasts who want to dial up the adventure on their weekend getaways,” said Jack Hollis, group vice president and general manager, Toyota division. “No matter the roads, the activities, or the people, FT-AC sparks authentic fun and conversation.”

The FT-AC concept is the perfect companion on your adventure. The front of the FT-AC features fog lights that not only can be used to brighten the road, but once stopped they can be removed and used as portable lights. The fog lights can be attached to a mountain bike for occasional night rides. The FT-AC concept even has embedded cameras with led lights in the side mirrors that can act as a flash for the cameras.

The infrared cameras on the side mirrors can record trail runs and can also be removed to continue recording. The concept also has an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot to help you easily upload all your videos and photos to the cloud.

At the rear an integrated bike rack retracts in a matter of seconds and the roof rack features rear-facing LED lights to aid nighttime visibility.

Under the hood Toyota says that the Toyota FT-AC concept could offer a next-generation hybrid powertrain, but it has been imagined as a thoroughly capable gasoline-powered vehicle with an advanced torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system.
