Several reports are now circulating that Toyota has confirmed that the FT-1 is indeed a concept version of the next Supra. The same reports also claim that the production version will come in two versions. The base model will be powered by Toyota’s new turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder, which is going to debut in the upcoming Lexus NX crossover. The second version will be powered by a hybrid system that combines a 2.5L V6 with an electric motor, giving it somewhere around 400 horsepower.

In addition to news about the next Supra, another report also claims that Toyota is working on third sports car that will be positioned below the Scion FR-S/ GT 86. It’s expected to arrive in 2017 and will also offer a hybrid powertrain with a 1.5L four-cylinder and an electric motor.
