The Smart ForTwo is Going to Have Start-Stop Technology That Will Hopefully Save Even More Gas!

BMW announced last week that the MINI range is going to have start-stop technology standard on all of its models. Now comes word that the Smart ForTwo will also have similar technology when it debuts later this year.

The technology stops the motor when the car is at a stand still and restarts the motor when the accelerator is pushed down. This can save a considerable amount of gas in major cities where drivers spend a lot of time stuck at stop lights and in traffic.

The ForTwo with the start-stop technology will feature a 1.0L engine that produces 71 horsepower.

The automaker is supposedly also working on a hybrid concept version of the ForTwo that will be unveiled later this year.
