With American car buyers’ preference for SUVs only growing, Mazda seeks to take advantage of this trend by introducing their fifth SUV, the 2025 Mazda CX-70.
Stylistically speaking, if you like how the 2024 Mazda CX-90 looks, you’ll like how the 2025 Mazda CX-70 looks. The exteriors are nearly identical, with the 2025 Mazda CX-70 featuring slightly revised bumpers and grille insert, the option of gloss black exterior trim, and new wheel designs.
The inside is the same story, with an interior almost entirely shared with the 2024 Mazda CX-90 save for the removal of the third row of seats. This means buyers will find an upscale, stylish interior with primarily high-end materials and some excellent detailing.
Mazda is also adding a driver assistance feature called Unresponsive Driver Support that will automatically decelerate the 2025 Mazda CX-70 if it detects an unresponsive driver. The 2025 Mazda CX-70 will also be the first Mazda vehicle with integrated Amazon Alexa support, allowing for the control of both in-car functions like changing the temperature and smart home functions like asking for your lights to be turned on as you approach your house.
In keeping with the theme of familiarity with the 2024 Mazda CX-90, the 2025 Mazda CX-70 shares the same engine choices – a SkyActiv G 3.3L Inline 6 Turbo engine with M-Hybrid Boost capable of producing 280-hp or 340-hp depending on spec or an e-SkyActiv G PHEV with 323-hp. All versions of the 2025 Mazda CX-70 will feature AWD and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2025 Mazda CX-70 should reach US showrooms in the spring of 2024, with more details like pricing revealed closer to that time.
