Electric cars are poised to take over the industry in the next few years as many automakers are expecting a large portion of their sales will come from electrified models. While the we’ve seen previews of the next-generation of electric cars, none of them look as quirky and fun as the Nobe 100.

Nobe 100

The Nobe 100 is a retro inspired electric car that looks like it teleported here directly from the 1950s. Its exterior design is so simple and it easily draws references to the original Fiat 500 and Saab 96. At the front the Nobe 100 looks like it was designed by Alfa Romeo. Even with its classic looks, the Nobe 100 is completely modern underneath the skin. Its fully electric powertrain has a driving range up to 136 miles and the small three-wheeled Nobe 100 can reach speeds up to 68 mph.

“Our aim with the Nobe 100 is to create something so effortlessly stylish that you want to lick it, while at the same time having an unparalleled effect on the impact of city traffic on the planet,” stated Nobe founder and CEO, Roman Muljar. “We wanted to fuse together personality and conscience, not just inventing a more sustainable way to get around cities, but also making it a more exciting and charismatic experience than a petrol vehicle.”

Inside there’s room for up to three passengers and when the sun is out, you can simply remove the Nobe 100’s targa roof to let all the light and air in. What you’ll immediately notice is that the interior lacks an infotainment system or even a simple audio system. While the interior looks uber retro, the Nobe 100 is looking further towards the future, since Nobe says that it’s fully connected and “designed as autonomous-ready.”

As of right now, Nobe is looking for investors to bring the Nobe 100 to market. A crowd funding campaign has been set up at FundedbyMe, since Nobe is hoping to raise €900k. If all goes well, sales will start in 2020.
