The SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive is the second model in Mercedes’ lineup to get the “Electric Drive” label, following the B-Class concept. It reaches 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph and a range of 155 miles. The four compact permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors, each weighing 99 lbs, achieve a maximum individual speed of 13,000 rpm and in each case drive the 4 wheels selectively via a axially-arranged transmission design.
