Not only is the Tesla Model Y Performance version able to drive up to 315 miles on a single charge, but it also able to do it with a 121 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) according to the EPA. That means that the Model Y is now the king, since it beats out the former top Hyundai Kona Electric with its 120 MPGe rating.
The EPA has also certified the Performance version’s 315 mile rating.
The good news is that the Model Y Performance and Long Range versions will begin rolling off the production line next month, which means that buyers won’t have to wait much longer to get it. If you’re waiting for the Standard Range version, you’ll still have to wait until 2021.
