Over the past week there have been lots of reports about how Tesla has missed its production goals for the Model 3. Last month Tesla hoped to build at least 1,500 Tesla Model 3 sedans, but only 260 ended up being built. Now Elon Musk has revealed that production is currently only at 1/10th of its potential.

Elon Musk revealed a video of the Model 3 production on Instagram, “The Model 3 body line slowed down to 1/10th speed”. Why is production only at 1/10th actual speed? According to Musk, the production is currently really slow to confirm build consistency and to be able to easily stop the robots if something goes wrong.
