Ram is updating its ProMaster and ProMaster City vans for the new model year. The 2019 Ram ProMaster vans are getting some styling updates, but that’s not why people buy these vans – it’s all about what they can do for you.

The 2019 Ram ProMaster and ProMaster City both get new front fascias with a new “Ram” grille that’s inspired buy the Ram pickups.

The full size Ram ProMaster now has increased payload and towing capability. The payload capacity has increased by up to 240 pounds depending on if you choose the ProMaster 1500, ProMaster 2500 or ProMaster 3500 model. The ProMaster 3500 has the highest payload capability at 4,680 pounds. The 2019 Ram ProMaster also gets a 30 percent increase in towing capacity — up to 6,800 pounds. Under the hood the Ram ProMaster is powered by a 280 horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2019 Ram ProMaster also offers a Vehicle System Interface Module with 13 inputs and 41 outputs. The VSIM feature gives upfitters quick and reliable connections to vehicle systems. There’s also new optional interior LED lighting that is 20 times brighter.

The 2019 Ram ProMaster City is powered a smaller engine with 178 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft. of torque, that’s mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The ProMaster City’s has a 1,885 payload capacity.

The 2019 Ram ProMaster 1500 starts at $31,840, including destination, while the 2019 Ram ProMaster City starts at $25,740.
