If you prefer to shift your own gears, you’ll be happy to know that the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S and 4S (992) models are now available with a manual transmission.

Porsche has announced that the new 911 Carrera S and 4S are available with seven-speed manual transmission if you’re not interested in the 8-speed PDK. The good news is that the manual transmission is a no-cost option and it also comes with the Sport Chrono Package. The package includes Dynamic Drivetrain Mounts, PSM Sport Mode, a rev-match function and the mode switch on the steering wheel. The manual transmission also comes with a standard mechanical limited-slip differential including Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), which replaces the fully variable, electronically controlled limited slip differential that comes on PDK models.

The 911 Carrera S with manual transmission can zoom from 0-60 mph in around 4 seconds and a top track speed of over 190 mph.

The seven-speed manual transmission for the 2020 911 Carrera S and 4S models can be ordered now and will arrive in Spring 2020. The 2020 911 Carrera S with manual transmission starts at $113,300, while the 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet starts $133,400, plus the $1,350 destination fee.
