Porsche unveiled the updated 2019 Porsche Macan a few months ago and now it’s unveiled the updates to the mid-level Macan S. Besides the visual changes, the biggest upgrade for the Macan S is a new turbocharged 3.0L V6.
The new 3.0L V6 replaces the old 3.6L V6. The new V6 generates 348 horsepower and 354 lb-ft. of torque, which is 8 more horsepower and 15 more lb-ft. than the old engine. The 2019 Macan S can now reach 60 mph in 5.1 seconds or 4.9 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package.
With more power under the hood, Porsche decided to upgrade the Macan S’s braking system with larger rotors. The driver will also notice a changed pedal feel, since the pedal now weights less than the previous steel part, and acts on the brake master cylinder via a shortened lever arm. The Macan S can also be equipped with the optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes.
On the outside the 2019 Macan S gets the same visual upgrades as the base model, which includes the new LED light bar at the rear and some smaller tweaks to the front fascia. Inside the infotainment system has been upgraded with a 10.9-inch full-HD touchscreen.
The 2019 Porsche Macan S starts at $59,650.
