Porsche is currently trying to decide if it should introduce a new sedan below the Panamera that would compete with models like the Maserati Ghibli, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Porsche boss Matthias Muller revealed to Autocar that it’s a possibility.
Even though it seems like a easy decision, Muller stated that “it would be a difficult decision, because Porsche has just taken a huge step getting into the Macan market.” It took a lot of effort to double Porsche’s production capacity for the Macan.

A smaller Porsche sedan has been rumored since 2012, but the model has yet to receive the green light. If it does get the green light, it is expected that it will be built on Volkswagen’s new MSB platform, which will also be the basis for the next Panamera.
