Porsche is getting ready to release its next electric SUV, the Cayenne Electric. To get us excited about the new fully electric Cayenne, Porsche is showing a off camouflaged prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

To demonstrate its performance capability, Gabriela Jílková, simulator and development driver for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, drove the camouflaged Cayenne Electric up the Shelsley Walsh hill climb, in record time of 31.28 seconds, beating the previous record for an SUV by four seconds. It can also tow up to 7,716 pounds.
Porsche says that what we see here is a “near-production” model. The good news is that the styling of the Cayenne EV looks like a combination of the Macan Electric and the gas-powered Cayenne. Speaking of the standard Cayenne, Porsche has confirmed that the Cayenne Electric will be sold alongside the gasoline and hybrid models.
