While the average price for a new car is well over $30k now, it’s good to know that there are a few frugal options still are out there. One of those is the 2019 Nissan Versa sedan, which isn’t the prettiest thing to look at or exactly fun to drive, but its $13,255 starting price is hard to ignore.

For the 2019 model year, the Nissan Versa sedan only gets updates to the SV Special Edition package, which adds features like 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, push button start, a leather wrapped steering wheel and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The SV Special Edition package only costs $800.

The 2019 Nissan Versa sedan is available in S, S Plus and SV trim levels and all of the trim levels are powered by a 109-horsepower 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that can be mated to either a five-speed manual or CVT transmission. With the CVT the Versa sedan is rated at 31 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway.
